Guest ethics
How to be here.
Six things we ask of every guest. None of them are difficult, and all of them matter.
- 01
You are entering a living system
The forest here is not a backdrop for a retreat. It is a working ecosystem that was here first and will be here after.
- 02
Follow the guides
On the paths, at the river and in ceremony, the people who live here know things you do not. Their instructions are not suggestions.
- 03
Leave wildlife alone
Do not feed, touch, chase or handle any animal. Watch from where you are. Photograph from where you are.
- 04
Ask before photographing people
Ask every time, including staff, guides and other guests. Ceremony spaces are not a backdrop. If the answer is no, it stays no.
- 05
Carry out what you carry in
Nothing you brought stays on the land unless it belongs there.
- 06
Respect the people of San Martín
You are a guest in a region where people live ordinary lives. Buy locally, pay fairly, and do not treat anyone as scenery.
About photography in particular
A camera changes a room. It changes a ceremony completely. Ask before you photograph anyone, every time, and accept a no without negotiating. Ceremony spaces are not a backdrop for anyone, including guests who have paid to be there.
The same rule applies to this website. Every photograph here was taken at Qinty, and publication depends on written permission from the people in it.
