Getting there

Where exactly is Qinty?

In the Amazon rainforest near Tarapoto, in the San Martín region of Peru. The nearest airport is Tarapoto, TPP, which takes domestic flights only. The exact location and the road in are sent to you once your application is accepted.

How long does it take to get there from Lima?

Lima to Tarapoto is a domestic flight. From Tarapoto there is a road journey to the property. The travel time on that road is confirmed with you before you book, and it is one of the details Qinty is still finalising for this site.

Can I come on my own?

Yes. Most guests travel alone. You will be met, and you will not have to find the property by yourself.

Do I need to speak Spanish?

No. Guests come from many countries. Which languages the guides and staff speak is being confirmed and will be listed here.

The stay

What are the rooms like?

Rooms are on the property, inside the forest. We are not going to describe bathrooms, hot water or fans before Qinty has confirmed each one, so this answer stays open until the details are verified. Ask us directly and we will tell you what is true today.

Will I have phone signal or Wi-Fi?

Treat the stay as time away from your phone. What connectivity exists on the land is being confirmed, and we would rather tell you nothing than tell you wrong. If someone at home needs to reach you in an emergency, we will give you a way before you arrive.

What is the food like?

Meals are prepared at Qinty with fresh regional ingredients. We have not claimed organic, vegan, gluten free or dieta compatible, because those need confirming. Tell us about allergies and restrictions in your application and we will answer honestly about what the kitchen can do.

Ceremony and healing

What happens in a ceremony?

A ceremony is held by experienced guides in a dedicated space, usually at night, over several hours. People sit or lie down. There is singing. You are not left alone. Beyond that, what is offered and how it is held is described to you directly during your application, because it depends on the retreat, on the guides and on you.

Is this medical or psychological treatment?

No. Traditional ceremony is not medical care, and it is not psychotherapy. It does not diagnose, treat or cure any condition. If you are receiving treatment for a physical or mental health condition, keep working with the people who treat you, and tell us during screening.

What will I get out of it?

We will not promise you an outcome. People describe rest, perspective, grief, relief, clarity, and sometimes difficulty. What you do with it afterwards matters more than what happens during it, which is why integration is built into every retreat.

I have never done anything like this. Is that a problem?

No. Many guests arrive with no previous experience. Say so in your application. It changes how the team prepares you, not whether you are welcome.

Safety

I take medication. Can I still come?

Tell us. Some medications interact seriously with traditional preparations, and some combinations are dangerous. Screening exists for exactly this. Never stop or change a prescription on your own to qualify for a retreat. Talk to the doctor who prescribed it, and talk to us.

Is there anyone who should not come?

Yes. The full eligibility list is being written with clinical input and will be published here rather than kept private. Until then, assume that heart conditions, seizure history, pregnancy, and a personal or family history of psychosis or bipolar disorder all need a conversation before anything else.

What happens to my health information?

The form on this site deliberately does not ask for diagnoses or medication names. Detailed health questions come later, through a secure channel, once your application has been accepted. We will tell you who reads it and how long it is kept.

Applying and paying

How do I book?

You do not book. You apply, and then you talk to someone. This is not a room you buy online. The application takes a few minutes and starts a conversation.

How much does it cost?

Prices are not published on this site yet. They are confirmed with Qinty and will appear on each retreat page with what is included, what is not, and the deposit terms. Ask and we will tell you the current figure.

When are the next dates?

Dates are confirmed with Qinty and are not published yet. Tell us roughly when you could travel and we will tell you what is open.

Still unsure?

Ask the question directly. Nothing you ask before applying counts against you, and a question that stops you travelling is worth answering properly.
